FormscanBy Michael Graham - Ronan McNally is looking to capture a big pot with The Jam Man who races off 129 which is a stone lower than his hurdle rating. He is in good form after three spins on the Flat that yielded a victory (in York last month) and a pair of runner-up finishes but, at the time of writing, he is around 5/1 for this competitive, big-field test which doesn't get the juices flowing. PORTMORE LOUGH makes each-way appeal. He ran a stormer for second in the Munster National at Limerick considering he was badly hampered at the first and his rider lost his irons until after the next fence. He was nicely backed and finished well clear of the remainder. In addition, he was third in this race last year. It was heartening to see the fifth home in that race, Scoir Mear, come out and win very well in Wexford. Scoir Mear comes back for more and has to go on the shortlist. Hat-trick-seeking Aforementioned (who won the Munster National) and Discordantly, who landed a staying handicap chase at Galway by 13 lengths, both have strong claims.
