FormscanBy Mark Nunan - There was plenty of market support for BENTHAM when he was caught close home in a beginners’ chase at Downpatrick and he might be able to go one better. The three-time bumper winner was a little disappointing over hurdles but there should be a race or two in him over fences. Alice Avril is a bit of a tearaway and, after jumping really well in front, was reeled in at Tramore last time. She was a good winner at Roscommon on her previous start and, if she learns to settle a bit better, there are definitely more chases to be won with her. Little Brother wasn’t far behind the latter at Tramore and is 10lb better off here so has claims off a handy weight, while Silver Star was second at Clonmel in June and was still in contention when coming down two out at Killarney last time.
