FormscanBy Gary Carson - DOWNFORCE loves this ground and he is fancied to strike again. Willie McCreery's charge ran out a good winner over the extended five at Navan last weekend and is versatile trip-wise having won three of his six career starts over seven. That didn't look like it would have taken too much out of him and this looks a nice opportunity to land a Group 3 prize now. Psychedelic Funk beat the selection at Tipperary at the end of last season in similar conditions and has to be a big threat. He does handle this ground but wouldn't be in love with it the same way as Downforce and the fact that the selection has a couple of runs under his belt, and gets a 3lb pull now, looks a big plus. Making Light has also been in winning form this season, taking the Park Express Stakes on the opening day here, and has to come into calculations. She has to carry a penalty and on official ratings has a few pounds to find but looks capable of running a big race. She controversially got promoted over Larchmont Lad at Leopardstown last October and that rival is back on Irish soil now. The ground would be a worry for him, however, as most of his form is on a sound surface.
