FormscanBy Tom Weekes - POKER PARTY was beaten a long way (in a race won by a wide-margin winner) at Tipperary latest but might be the safest pick in an ordinary maiden. He ran a nice race when third on his last three year old start in October 2015 and while he missed 2016, did reappear in good health at Tipperary and can be expected to improve plenty from that reappearance run. Abraham is a useful flat performer at best but has plenty to prove on his second hurdles start today. He ran around and looked very green when exiting at the first flight at Gowran and that is a big concern coming here today. Frank Wilde ran reasonably well at Roscommon latest but clearly needs to improve to beat any useful types while Vermeulen pulled up on hurdles debut recently but is surely capable of far better and would be a big player if returning to his best old flat form.
