FormscanBy Donal Murphy - DORANS RIVER is the selection in this weak contest. The son of Golan has been disappointing on his last two starts, and makes his debut for Gordon Elliott now. Previously trained by Tom Hogan, the seven-year-old gelding won a bumper in good style at Listowel last September, and subsequently finished third in a winners race at Cork. He has been given a break since his last run, and hopefully he can rekindle his spark here as he drops back in trip. Keith Donoghue, having his first ride since March 11th, has been booked to partner the selection. Elliott is also represented by Canny Tom (first time tongue strap), who is proving hard to win with, and course and distance bumper victor Westinmare. Atlantic Breaker is a three time course and distance runner-up, and another solid effort can be expected from him. Brian Hamilton won this race twelve months ago, and he is represented by point-to-point winner Winterberry.
