The Shantou mare has had an interesting life both on and off the track and is already the dam of a three-year-old, also in training with Mullins, which was the result of an accidental pregnancy. Her delayed racing career got off to a good start in a Kilbeggan bumper last summer and she’s taken well to hurdles with a further three wins this year. The latest of those came at Galway earlier this month where she made all in fine style over a similar trip to this. The Closutton maestro won this last year with Daisy’s Gift who has been lightly-raced since, and has failed to impress this year over fences including when jumping poorly at Galway last time. Perhaps a return to hurdles can work the oracle. Plain Talking could be interesting in receipt of all the allowances especially if enough rain arrives to change the going. The Gavin Cromwell-trained filly has plenty of stamina judged on three wins this year, and again ran well over an inadequate trip in the valuable Lartigue Hurdle at Listowel.
