FormscanBy Alan Magee - This looks a good opportunity for PRINCE CHAPARRAL to belatedly open his account over hurdles. Pat Flynn’s charge has scored three times on the Flat, although all have been on a fast surface, and has gained plenty of experience since over hurdles. A reproduction of his latest effort behind the impressive Pique Sous at Thurles should be good enough in this company. The opposition is certainly not too taxing. Fire Belt has probably not been the easiest to train but it should be noted that the lightly-raced seven-year-old has been placed on all six bumper starts and ran better than the finishing position would suggest on his hurdling debut at Tipperary back in the spring. Smart Money was runner-up in a couple of point-to-points including behind subsequent top class bumper horse Champagne Fever at Quakerstown, while the lightly-campaigned Lord Orphan has also shown some ability between the flags.
