The Shamardal grey has had a run here at Naas in the past, finishing fifth behind Blue De Vega over seven furlongs back in September. He was a beaten favourite over more or less the same trip at Limerick in October, and he's had just the one start this term, fourth over a mile behind Reckless Gold at the Curragh on June 24th. It seems that Dermot Weld feels that a step back to six furlongs now could be the key for his three-year-old. On 84 Almanaara is ahead of Flowerhill Nova (83), Nuala Tagula (68), Haqeeba (68) and Repatriated (66). The selection could be helped by the addition of a visor.
