The Ask mare ran alright when ninth behind Winner Takes Itall in an extended nine furlong maiden at Gowran in the middle of the month. She’s carried the colours of her breeder, Denis Reddan, up until now, but she’s set to represent a syndicate here, and they could strike it lucky immediately with the point-to-point winner. Aprils Joy has never gone this far before on the racecourse proper, and one might expect the near two and a half mile trip to suit her well. The selection is from a family full of winners, and with a little luck it shouldn’t be long before she makes the big breakthrough. Henry de Bromhead’s pair, Abbi Shore and The Three Wizards, Champagne Diva, Doyen’s Diva, Haondotri and Little Lady Lu are among the others to consider.
