The winner, Forge Meadow, has since scored over hurdles at Grade Two level. Runner-up Geneva Barracks and third-placed Morgan have also tasted victory, so Calicojack should be well up to winning a bumper. Meade also runs Mr Showtime who could appreciate this quicker ground after finishing second on heavy in a Punchestown maiden hurdle. Torrent Des Mottes is the obvious danger. He was very easy to back on debut in Tramore and came home second. He was some eight lengths clear of the next horse though, and with that experience banked ought to be right on the premises.
