FormscanBy Michael Graham - The starting point has to be Aidan O'Brien who has won this race for the last six years. He runs two here - Ensign and World Stage. The former weakened out of contention in a mile and a half maiden at Leopardstown and might be best watched. The latter, an unraced son of Galileo, could be up to the job and has to be monitored in the market. Similar sentiments apply to a host of newcomers. Michael Halford and Godolphin introduce Don Pedro while Erratic Path starts out for Ger Lyons. Johnny Murtagh and Jim Bolger run Hague Convention and Justinian respectively. STEEL PRINCE may be vulnerable to a useful newcomer but has shown himself to be a likeable colt in his first two runs. He was nicely backed on debut when just over a length third behind Homesman and Modern Approach in Limerick. That pair have both since won (Homesman in a Group Three). In his next race he kept on to be second to an odds-on favourite in Tipperary and was seven lengths clear of the third. He is a solid yardstick in this contest.
