FormscanBy Michael Graham - TRUE SELF is hard to oppose on her first start for Willie Mullins. She was beaten by a head in a Warwick bumper on soft ground last November when trained by Don Cantillon. The race comments revealed that she took a keen hold, ran wide and hung right on a bend and then veered right in the final furlong. Despite all that, she was only headed close home so must have considerable ability. The horse that beat her has won two races since. O'Faolains Cailin was very well backed on debut at Roscommon but caught a tartar in Vittorio who looked very smart. O'Faolains Cailin came home third and can improve from that. It will be interesting to see if the money comes again for her. Masons Daughter was headed over a furlong out in her debut at Limerick before dead heating for third. She could be in the hunt for more prize money.
