FormscanBy Tom Weekes - ALPHA MALE was a very easy and oddly impressive winner of the Bishopscourt Cup at Punchestown last April and looks the type who can continue to win more hunters chases. He showed ability over hurdles when trained in England by Nicky Henderson in 2016/17 before ultimately disappointing, but seems to have found his form for current connections and while he lacks a recent outing, can take plenty beating today if near his Punchestown form. Macs Legend is himself a dual winning and useful hunter chaser and looks a danger. He failed to win over hurdles and in conventional chases but has been in excellent form this year. He also lacks a recent outing and while he carries top weight, his rider claims 5lbs and he now meets ALPHA MALE on level terms. Different Spot has shown ability in his point-to-points thus far and while he disappointed in a Gowran bumper last March, did beat a subsequent points winner at Lisronagh in October. He represents top connections but may find one or two too good today. Carrignagapple is a dual points winner and while he is clearly capable, might also find a few too strong.
