FormscanBy Alan Magee - TWILIGHT PAYMENT appears to be crying out for this trip. The son of Teofilo ran a cracker on his only previous attempt at the distance when a strong-finishing third to Sword Fighter in the Queen’s Vase at Royal Ascot. The ground was on the soft side on that occasion, and stamina appears his forte judged on both subsequent outings at this venue. He made all in a maiden on Irish Oaks day, and last time kept on well behind Order Of St George in the Irish St Leger Trial. The last two winners of this Listed event both line-up again, and Toe The Line is the more appealing of the pair having warmed up for this over an inadequate trip at Listowel last week. Forgotten Rules is the class horse in the race but has been on the sidelines for just short of a year. The Moyglare Stud Farm homebred is a classy stayer at his best, notably when landing the Group 2 Long Distance Cup on Champions Day at Ascot. However that was nearly two years ago, and he’s failed to sparkle since a gallant third in the 2015 Ascot Gold Cup. Jennies Jewel has gone from strength to strength this year, and recorded a memorable win last time at Royal Ascot. She's obviously laden with stamina and, after failing to get in foal, should give her connections plenty more enjoyment on the track.
