FormscanBy Donal Murphy - Plenty of exciting prospects on show here. Willie Mullins has dominated this race in recent years, winning six of the last nine renewals. He relies on Makitorix now, and it would come as no surprise if this impressive Listowel victory took the step up in class in his stride. The one I'll side with however is the Gordon Elliott trained MENGLI KHAN. The son of Lope De Vega was beaten on his two starts last season, but looks a different proposition this campaign. He dismissed his rivals in convincing fashion on his return to action at Navan in September, and again impressed when beating Stratum by four lengths on his next start in a Grade 3 at Proudstown Park. Elliott also saddles Hardline who seems to have turned a corner in recent times. He was disappointingly beaten on his return to action at Downpatrick in September, but has since won impressively at Wexford and Clonmel respectively. JP McManus is represented by Red Jack, Early Doors and Le Richebourg, with Barry Geraghty opting to ride the latter. The son of Network has won his last three, but was beaten by Red Jack earlier in his career. Red Jack is himself unbeaten in three starts, and it'll be interesting to see how he gets on now. Morgan completes the line-up, and he is the only one who can be ruled out.
