FormscanBy Tom Weekes - CAERLEON KATE showed vastly improved form when a nose second over course and distance last month and has strong claims today, if reproducing that level of form. She looked very ordinary prior to her 50/1 runner-up effort here latest but if she does manage to reproduce that run, which is possible given she is capable of improvement being just a five year old, should confirm form with Polymath and Blue Empyrean, whom she meets on identical terms. Polymath is himself a little frustrating but can be expected to run a solid race while Blue Empyrean, has also shown some useful hurdles from but is agai burdened by his winners’ penalty. Scotch Beg won her bumper here last month but may improve from this debut hurdles run while Rueben James has winning point to point form and cannot be totally dismissed.
