FormscanBy Tom Weekes - IVAN GROZNY seems to be ideally suited to racing two miles around this venue and could be hard to beat with some negatives surrounding his rivals. He lacks ability in top level Grade 1 winter hurdles but is nonetheless a solid performer on fast ground and while keen-going, could blaze a trail here for an all-the-way win. Rashaan comes here in excellent form having won his last two starts. However he does seem better suited by a longer trip which may catch him out over this sharp two miles trip today. Clondaw Warrior is passed over by Ruby Walsh and while he is a very capable performer at best, a repeat win in next month’s Galway Hurdle could be his big summer target. Moonday Sun seemed to improve for his new trainer when winning at Punchestown latest but needs to continue progression to win this, while Plinth is a previous CD winner but is vulnerable to smart performers. High class Kitten Rock is still just a seven year old but is possibly best watched on his reappearance run while Minella Foru has his first run since a fall in the Irish National and is probably best watched, along with long-absent Thomas Edison.
