He's a character alright but Shrapnel has plenty of talent and as a point-to-point winning half-brother to Weapon's Amnesty this trip could well suit him down to the ground. He's a danger to all. He's actually rated 2Ibs superior to Inish Island but he must concede him 3Ibs in this. At the ratings, Whispering Hills and Dushybeag have a bit to do and it would be a bit of a surprise were either to prevail, though the latter does have course winning form. Quarryvale would justifiably appear to be the outsider of the field whilst Venture Capital is still a bit of an unknown quantity. He was beaten by a very good horse in Prince De Beauchene at Limerick last time and he goes up further in trip now. How he goes in the betting will be mightily interesting.
