FormscanBy Alan Magee - CLONDAW WARRIOR is a highly progressive dual-purpose gelding and it will be interesting to see how he copes with the step up to this trip. The nine-year-old gelding can list a Royal Ascot success on his considerable CV as well as a career highlight this summer when landing the Galway Hurdle. He stays well on the Flat and subsequently ran well in the American St Leger before a rare below par effort in the Doncaster Cup. Taglietelle comes out best on figures and his nine career wins include a valuable handicap over this trip at Aintree last year. However he’s not really sparkled in a mixed campaign over hurdles and fences of late. Val De Ferbet has yet to win over hurdles in Ireland, and needs to step up on his reappearance behind De Plotting Shed at Thurles to take a hand.
