FormscanBy Donal Murphy - AVALANCHE caught my eye on his last start at Naas and he is the selection in this competitive contest. He had a far from clear run at the Co Kildare venue before keeping on well in the closing stages to finish a never nearer seventh. That was his first run since June of last year and he can be expected to come on plenty from it. Barbeque was beaten by just a nose over the course and distance in October and while it's disappointing that she hasn't won since she should give a good account of herself here. She has had a break since her last run at Naas in April and in a contest of this quality she should be able to make her presence felt. Longfield Lad was placed on his last two starts and he is another to consider along with Count Of Carabass and Consonance (Pat Smullen aboard).
