FormscanBy Gary Carson - A weak contest and AKORAKOR should be up to gaining a long overdue first win over hurdles. The French-bred looked a smart prospect when taking the champion point-to-point bumper at Fairyhouse back in April 2013 but has proven disappointing over timber. In saying that he won't get a better opportunity than this and although he hasn't lived up to his potential he's shown more than enough to land a race of this standard. He is one of only two previous winners in the race and the other Perseid claimed an ordinary looking Sedgefield bumper for his success. That form hasn't worked out particularly well and he ran poorly himself when weakening tamely on his jumps debut at Newcastle in January. Definite Trouble may be capable of getting involved on his return from a long break. Now with Noel Meade he didn't shape too badly on the first of his two bumpers runs and may have some ability. The four-year-old Next Bend didn't run too badly on his first outing over hurdles at Naas and could be place material getting a nice chunk of weight.
