FormscanBy Alan Magee - SRUTHAN ticks a lot of boxes as he goes well fresh and has both the ground and distance in his favour. The Paul Deegan-trained gelding has won on his seasonal debut in three of the past four years, and that includes significant wins at the Curragh in both the Gladness Stakes and the Lincoln. The selection was giving weight to nearly all his rivals when storming home by over four lengths in the Lincoln last year, and also won the Listed Celebration Stakes on Irish Derby day last term. Onenightidreamed is another former winner of the Lincoln, and showed the benefit of an outing early last year to further emulate the selection in winning the Gladness Stakes. The lightly-raced gelding could well progress from a recent outing in the latest renewal of the Lincoln at Naas to take a hand here. Round Two was very highly regarded before injured intervened as a juvenile, and returned to the winners’ enclosure on soft ground at Limerick last autumn. Flying Fairies ran well on the opening day of the turf season at Naas, while Rose de Pierre and Stronger Than Me are others to consider in a competitive heat.
