The stirrup of Vision Clear (GER) had become detached from the saddle on the way to the start, resulting in its rider being unseated.
The Stewards considered that the failure could not have been predicted with the saddle being in a serviceable condition prior to the race.
Therefore, they took no further action.
Miss Jessica Llewellyn, the rider of Sir Plato (IRE) was unseated leaving the stalls.
After viewing a recording of the incident, it was found that no other horse or rider was involved and the incident had been caused by the gelding jumping awkwardly from the stalls and unbalancing its rider.
The Stewards were satisfied that Sir Plato (IRE) was deemed a runner.
An enquiry was held to consider the placings in this race after interference on the run to the line involving the winner Voltaic (GB), ridden by Miss Sarah Bowen and Inclement Weather (GB), placed second, ridden by Miss Poppy Scott.
Having reviewed the footage and listened to the evidence from both riders the Stewards considered that the interference had not improved the placing of Voltaic (GB) and were unable to be satisfied that given an uninterrupted run to the line Inclement Weather (GB) would have finished in front of Voltaic (GB) as the interference took place in close proximity to the winning post, Inclement Weather (GB) did not suffer any loss of momentum and lost minimal ground as a consequence, and taking into account the winning distance being a short head at the line the stewards ordered the placings to remain unaltered.
The interference was found to be accidental as Voltaic (GB) shifted quickly right-handed despite Miss Sarah Bowen’s best efforts to correct the gelding.
