The Raceday Stewards enquired into possible interference inside the final furlong involving Amazonian Warrior, ridden by D. Egan, placed second, and Monotone, ridden by R.P. Cleary, placed first, where it appeared Monotone leaned right impeding Amazonian Warrior. Evidence was heard from the riders concerned. D. Egan said he received a bump from Monotone which he felt may have cost him the momentum needed to win the race. R.P
Cleary said his mount went right for a few strides when he applied the whip in his left hand but felt it made no difference to the result. Having viewed the recording of the race and considered the evidence, the Raceday Stewards made no alteration to the Judge’s placings and took no further action.
