3rd time lucky for Sea Beat
J D (his son) bought him in Newmarket and he suggested to Chris (Jones, the owner) that he might be a Fred Winter horse. He done well for a horse that never ran on the flat and if he gets in he'll go (to the Fred Winter). He was quite highly strung and it's possible that Cheltenham could blow his head and I wouldn't be that disappointed if he didn't get in.
Enright gets a great tune out of Avondhu Lady
She's never let us down . she's game and tough. I thought the two miles might be a bit sharp for her but that trip here on that ground is a test of stamina. They got into a battle in the straight and that's her forte. Tarla and Byerley Babe are two good mares and I have the two and a half miler at Fairyhouse in mind for my one now (the Grade 3 John and Chic Fowler Memorial Mares Chase in which Avondhu Lady finished second to Nadiya De La Vega last year).
Odds-on James is good
He's confirmed Leopardstown form with Spa Hill and once he did that he was always going to be hard to beat. He'll make a good chaser as he's big and brave. He's not short of pace and if he'd winged the last he wouldn't have come off the bridle,.
The Way We Were gets that chase success
Moscow shows class under Russell at Naas
I was a little bit worried about going left handed as he jumped a bit right in Navan but they can come up the stand's side here which Davy did. He did it well and jumped well. I was delighted to get the horse from the Flanagan's and we're getting to know him now and he's a nice horse to have. He did a lot of slow work before Navan and I've got stuck into him since and he takes his work well. We'll look for a winners novice chase.
Seamus Mor has his day
He's improving with each run and I told Sean to make plenty of use of him with his weight. Hopefully he can win another handicap before he goes chasing. The deeper the ground the better and he's a typical Shantou in that he's very tough. I'm delighted for the owners, Victor and Rachel Treacy (they also bred the gelding). They are the most loyal and genuine owners you could have.
