Stattler I was relieved they didn't call off racing (which passed a 7.45am inspection). I wanted these conditions for this fella as he galloped very well in these type of conditions at home. He's a staying chaser, that's what he is really. I'll have a chat with Patrick and see if he wants to go for a winners bumper with him. I'll maybe have a chat with the owner as well and see if he wants to hurdling this year and chasing next year. He's an out-and-out jumper rather than a bumper horse. Ian Ferguson had him and he said he's a right jumper. We've jumped a few hurdles with him but never jumped fences. Ian schooled him and thinks he's a right type. He'd know so I'm happy to take his advice.

Castle Oliver that was great. I don't have him that long, he came from Joseph's (O'Brien), he's a lovely big horse. I'd say they went a bit fast on that ground and Jody took his time, it was the right thing to do. It's nice to get a winner for Mr McManus. I don't know where he'll go now but he's a staying chaser and could go for something similar. He jumps and stays.

Fury Road they were calling it yielding on Friday morning so we said we'd take our chance. But when all the rain came and it went yielding to soft we said we'll leave him (Abacadabras) alone and not pull the legs out of him at this stage of his career and keep him for the Royal Bond Hurdle next week.

Tactical Move It was great to win a bumper with him and I don't think we're going to go for a winners' bumper with him. He'll go straight hurdling now and will go chasing then next season. It's not normally what we do but he missed last year and we only got to run him once. He is a horse I want to get out over fences sooner rather than later. We're trying to fit bumper horses from last year into hurdles and get them all going and get the season going.

Fury Road A big couple of days for Keith Donoghue and he showed there that if he has the ammunition he is good enough, . He's a great man over a jump and always was. We thought he was a machine in his bumpers but we had to give him an operation. I'd say a trip looks very good for him. He looked comfortable the whole way. He could go for a three miler over Christmas and could drop back to two and a half. He's a good horse.

Champagne Classic He won well and 'Puppy' said he loves that ground,. They went a good gallop and that suited him. I think he's going to go for the Drinmore now after that. He jumped well and did everything well. He had a fitness advantage there on a few of them. Puppy was happy and said he travelled well.

Champagne Classic Jack was very impressed with him and said he jumped brilliant. He said he'd come on from it and could even go further,. He still qualified for the likes of the four-mile chase at Cheltenham and they will be the races he'll be going for. Flawless Escape galloped off okay. He was going to win well anyway. Obviously he could go for the Drinmore but we'll mind him anyway. Obviously he's had his few injuries and he might even go straight for that. He didn't do anything wrong last year. The plan was to go to the four-mile chase and he pulled a muscle, and we just couldn't get there, so we just decided to pull the plug on him for the year.

Janet's Charm She's a half-sister to Bellshill and that win makes her a valuable broodmare. Danny (Mullins, son of winning trainer Mags) thought she had improved from her first run and it is a pedigree which wants a trip,. I thought she idled in front and when she goes over hurdles over a trip she could improve again. She is only four and Bellshill improved as he got older so they could have a lot of fun with her. She might possibly get black-type over hurdles.

Put The Kettle On I'm delighted for everyone involved in the syndicate and we are having some run with her and she is a lovely mare. She jumped brilliant, Hugh was great on her and just at the last two she landed a bit funny after them but that was it. We might have a look at the black-type chase at Tipperary in early October with her next.
