Mogwli It's great for the young fella and great for the missus (wife Amanda) who bred him. We have a lovely Raven's Pass half-brother being broken at the moment. He broke well and there is lovely fresh ground down the rail. He just kept him happy and I thought the horse fought them off well but I thought we were just going to be caught on the line.

Petticoat Rule She is a big mare, has taken a long time to come to hand and is from a very good family and was bred by Edmont Kent down here in Cork. I put the visor on her because she is a daft oul devil and just keeps learning. The more she learns, the better chance we have. She ran in terrible ground in Killarney and the better ground helped today. She is in on Friday (at Limerick) and we might run her again.

Royal Canford Billy jumped her out and set lovely fractions. It’s great for her owner/breeder Michael O’Donnell who didn’t have a winner for a while and has now had two in a week (Huddle Up at Cork last Tuesday).

Truth Prevails She's a well-bred little filly by Siyouni and it's very important to get her to win a maiden,. We'll try and get a bit of black-type by the end of the year, she loves that soft ground. Declan rode her last week and said he gave her too much light so he wanted to cover her up and gave her a lovely bit of cover today. He said he just hit the front too soon as she picked them up very easy but I liked the way she battled back. We are learning about her. I'm delighted for Johnny Connaughton who bought her as a foal but wasn't getting enough for her as a yearling. She'll join his broodmare band if she can get some black-type.

Huddle Up It’s onwards and upwards, and we’ll try find a few little races for him. He’s a fun horse to have but he’s grand and he’s after paying for himself there in one fell swoop. He did that well. I castrated him early just because he was just thinking about things, but he had a lovely attitude there. He was very game to the line, and I thought Nathan was very strong on him - he showed his younger brother what to do!

Mogwli I'm delighted for the young lad, it's his third ride. He works hard in the yard. He's a local lad and is trainer Micky Cleary's son. I'm delighted with that, my wife Amanda bred the horse so she'll be happy. It's the second win for the little horse and we have a half-brother by Raven's Pass going to the sales. He doesn't like the wind and having it behind him was the best thing for him. He rode a grand race and I loved the way he fought back at the finish.
