Irish Runners Abroad: Goodwood Cup, Chesterfield Cup, and Vintage Stakes Contenders

A mega week of racing action at home and abroad goes up a gear on Tuesday as Glorious Goodwood tags in alongside the Galway Races.
The first of five days on the Sussex Downs is headlined by the Group 1 Al Shaqab Goodwood Cup Stakes (15:05) and we are taking a look at the Irish raiders bound for Glorious Goodwood on Tuesday.
Masoun - Coral Chesterfield Cup Handicap
The meeting gets up and running with the Coral Chesterfield Cup Handicap (13:20) and Irish hopes are carried by Joseph O'Brien's Masoun.
The gelded son of Too Darn Hot heads for Goodwood in cracking form after wins at Leopardstown (1m1f, soft) and the Curragh (1m2f, good) in June.
The latter success came in the Ladies Derby off a mark of 93 with Elizabeth Gale claiming 7lb in the saddle.
The four-year-old is rated 6lb higher for this assignment with Dylan McMonagle making the journey for riding duties after his trip to Galway on Monday evening.
Andab & Dorset - Coral Vintage Stakes

The opening Group-race contest at Goodwood is the Vintage Stakes, a seven-furlong contest at Group 2 level for juveniles and there is a double helping of Irish interest.
Joseph O'Brien features again with Andab a son of Saxon Warrior in the Al Shaqab Racing silks, while his father, Aidan, sends across Wootton Bassett colt Dorset.
It's a field of nine winners from 10 contenders, with Zavateri Gharma Sutra Goodwood Galaxy Humidity and Laureate Crown all unbeaten.
Andab is one of the more experienced contenders. He made a winning start at the Curragh in a 6f good-ground maiden in May and has since run good races in defeat in a Group 3 there over the same C&D and at Royal Ascot when fourth in the Coventry Stakes over 5f behind Gstaad.
That form is solid, but he has to turn things around with runner-up Do Or Do Not now.
Dorset was second on his debut over this 7f trip at the Curragh in June behind odds-on stablemate Amadeus Mozart and went on better during the Irish Derby Festival over the same track and trip.
Ryan Moore 's partner gets the chance to shine now upped in class.
Illinois & Scandinavia - Al Shaqab Goodwood Cup Stakes
It's just the O'Briens representing Ireland on day one at Goodwood and Aidan is two-handed in the feature race as the Ballydoyle supremo looks for his fifth Goodwood Cup having won two of the last three with Kyprios.
Illinois was the silver medallist in the Gold Cup at Ascot behind Trawlerman after winning the Ormonde Stakes at Chester on his seasonal return and will be fancied by many to go one better now.
Like the other six runners, he has to concede a stone in weight to Scandinavia, the only three-year-old in the field.
The Justify colt was beaten in the Queen's Vase at Royal Ascot but has since won the Bahrain Trophy Stakes at Newmarket less than three weeks ago with a striking performance.
Stradivarius was the last 3YO to win this race, the first of four in a row for him, and it's going to be a fascinating contest between these Coolmore runners as they look set to dominate the betting.
