Michael is great value for his 7lb, that's his first win for me and it worked out well. He had previously ridden for me a few weeks ago and is a good up-and-coming pilot,. He stayed on very well and we'll look for another conditions novice hurdle next. Hopefully he will keeping doing jobs.

That’s his kind of thing now. He’s ten-years-old and he’s had plenty of issues. He’s staying in one piece at the moment. He’s had tendon issues. Dave (Kiely) is getting a good return out of him. He’d been a long-time maiden. Between point-to-pointing and aiming for Foxhunters, he’d never really had a clear run. He’s a grand horse and he’s grand for that job. He’s a novice and a veteran! He can run in a novice chase as well, so he has a couple of options. I’d say the visor is after waking him up and Kevin is good value for his 7lb.

He had a good run in Ballinrobe (runner-up)and ran into a good horse on the night, and he improved from that. I think he’ll improve more and hopefully we’ll have a bit of fun with him. He said he was there a bit sooner than he wanted to be, but it worked out well. The main aim will be to go hurdling and I’d say he’s better on soft ground. That’s proper good ground and has dried out during the evening. He had a few problems along the way as you do with horses and it’s good for Tom (Hegarty, owner) who has been patient with him.
