Riders - Qualified Riders under I.N.H.S. Rules. Top weight after the time of declaration shall not be less than 12st 4lbs and the minimum weight is 10st 7lbs. Note The Rules and instructions relating to the Overnight Nomination of Riders shall not apply in this instance. The top 8 horses declared in race card order will be allocated riders from the selected British based and Irish based Riders team by lot. Trainers of any remaining horses in this race should declare a rider of their choice. The draw for riders will take place at 10.30 a.m. on Wednesday 19th November with the toss of a coin to determine which team draws odd or even numbers. Individual riders will then be drawn by ballot. Points will be scored by the first eight placed horses on a scale of 15-12-10-8-7-6-5-4, if the horse is eligible to score points, and the team that accumulates the highest number of points will be deemed the winner. Race Conditions - An I.N.H. flat race for four, five, six and seven years old only that have not won a race under any N.H. Rules or Rules of Racing (excluding Academy Hurdles and 3-y-o Junior N.H. Hurdles) and that have been placed first, second, third or fourth in a Point-To-Point steeplechase in Ireland since 1st October, 2023 Weights - 12st Mares allowed 7lbs; Riders - Qualified Riders under I.N.H.S. Rules. All horses running in this race must hold a current Hunters Certificate. A Hunter Certificate valid in accordance with Rule 78 for the 2025/2026 season for each horse engaged must be registered at the Offices of the I.N.H.S. Committee, The Curragh, Co. Kildare not later than 14th November or the horse will not be qualified to start. The IHRB have suspended the relevant part of Rule 78 to enable horses which run in this race (excluding the winner) to retain their Hunters Certificate for the remainder of the 2025/2026 season. HRI Directive 10 has been suspended for the purpose of this race and the following procedures for elimination and balloting of horses will apply. (i) The number of declared runners shall be reduced by first balloting those horses that have not won a Point-To-Point steeplechase since 1st October, 2023. (ii) The number of horses declared will be then reduced by balloting those horses that have not won more than one Point-To-Point steeplechase since 1st October, 2023. (iii) In the event of Paragraphs (i) and (ii) not achieving the recommended limit a random ballot will then be applied to the remaining horses.
