Dermot and Eileen are family friends all my life and while I was based in England as a jockey, the first pony I ever rode was Dermot's pony called Mandy. They lived beside us, my father was great friends and my mother still goes over to them. I wanted to give up with the mare as she is a bit of a madam, but the owners persevered. The Raceday Stewards interviewed Miss A. Ruane, rider of Rock Of Ireland, concerning her use of the whip in the closing stages of this race. Evidence was heard from the rider concerned who accepted she was in breach of the whip regulation and apologised for her actions. Having viewed a recording of the race and considered the evidence the Raceday Stewards were satisfied that Miss A. Ruane was in breach of R.10.3(i)(time to respond) and having considered her clean record in this regard, they suspended her for two racedays

The Raceday Stewards requested a report from Paul W. Flynn, trainer, as to the apparent improvement in form of Ms Messi, placed first, as compared with its recent form. Paul W. Flynn reported that the step up in trip on a quicker surface today may have contributed to the apparent improvement in form. Having considered the report the Raceday Stewards noted the explanation given

Neve Bennett, rider of Barrogstown Girl, trained by Jarlath P.Fahey, reported to the Clerk of the Scales that her mount ran keen and clipped a heel. Having viewed a recording of the race and considered the matter, the Raceday Stewards were satisfied that no further action was warranted
