I’m just delighted. It’s great when you find races like that. It’s the same over jumps, I just love those novice rated races — those types of races. He’s a horse that is progressing and we really like him. We knew he’d like the ground, we’d been waiting all season for an ease in the ground. In fairness, we had all the advantages, we were getting a stone off the top couple. It really did suit us. He’s such a simple horse. He’s quite versatile trip-wise and we know he gets further, it was two furlongs further the last time he ran here and he just got beat. He goes on the better ground, he’s just better with an ease in it. Nicola gets on great with him and she’s given him confidence from riding him last year as a two-year-old to early this year. I’m very happy for Seamus and Geraldine (Kiernan). They are good supporters of mine and it’s great to get results for the people who have faith in you. Thomas Gibney, trainer

C.T. Keane, rider of Back Straight (GB), trained by M.D. O'Callaghan, reported to the Clerk of the Scales that his mount lugged right up the straight

Reese Holohan, rider of Minella Rockett, trained by John J.Nallen, reported to the Clerk of the Scales that his mount hung right inside the last two furlongs

The Raceday Stewards enquired into an incident close to the line involving Minella Rockett, ridden by Reese Holohan and Royal Bones, ridden by S. Foley where it appeared Royal Bones shifted left close to the line

Evidence was heard from the riders concerned. Reece Holohan stated he took a precautionary check close to the line. S. Foley stated that as his horse got tired close to the line he shied at the winning post. Having viewed the recording of the race and considered the evidence, the Raceday Stewards did not apportion blame to any rider and took no further action.
