Naas Sun, 23rd Aug, 2026  Minella Rockett He’s a tough, honest, little horse and he keeps improving. He keeps at it. I don’t know where we go now. He’s a horse that was for sale but nobody gave me enough for him, they were all laughing at me! He keeps doing it. We’ll probably step him up in trip a bit. He was on his head the whole time, the only time he was getting his own way was at the line. The New Bays are winning everything and we’re lucky to have him. I bought him over the road as a yearling. We’re looking at the race that Minella Study won in Wetherby at the end of October last year (Wensleydale Juvenile Hurdle). It’s a 40 grand Listed race and he’d have no penalty. I wouldn’t run him with a penalty as he’s handy. He’s probably a horse for any place in the world after doing that. I asked plenty for him after he won over hurdles and told lads that he would win in Galway and they looked at me. Seamie (Heffernan) was always mad about him last year. We’ve been lucky with the Flat horse, they’re all after clicking. We only ended up with them by accident, giving Seanie (Bowen) a dig out. He was going to come over today but he was suspended.

Goodwood Sat, 1st Aug, 2026  Hopewell Rock I thought he was one of our best chances of the week at Royal Ascot and, for some reason, he didn’t show up. He looked super out the back today and got a super ride,. I’ve always wanted to step him up, even to two miles, and today was the big thing for Wathnan (owners). It’s a massive meeting for them. We haven’t thought much past today but he can probably step up into Stakes company and hopefully turn into a Cup horse at some point. He’s in the Ebor and I think, at the moment, York is a pretty natural stepping stone for him but we’ll take it a day at the time.

Galway Wed, 29th Jul, 2026  Minella Rockett He’s a tough little horse,. He probably didn’t fully see out the mile-and-a-quarter in Navan,  but that was a serious race and everything has won out of it. We were a bit worried about the ground, but this has been the plan since Navan. We ran him over hurdles in the meantime, and he’ll be a Triumph Hurdle horse for someone hopefully!. He’s been on the market the whole time, but my value of him and other people’s value of him is different. How could you value today, it’s brilliant. The Nallens have talked about coming to Galway for a lifetime. We’re Mayo people originally as well, so to get a winner west of the Shannon is great. It’s been mighty.

Curragh Sat, 18th Jul, 2026  Rebel Wave I'm delighted with that. She did nothing wrong in Limerick and has come on from that. If you don't win the next day, you're going backwards. She's won and I thought she fought well there to win. She's a hardy filly and she tries, she's going the right way. She loved the ground there. The last day was soft ground, today was quick ground. I'm happy with that. We'll keep her in a fillies' handicap or look around for a bit of black type. We won't run her too often because she's not an over-big filly, but she tries very hard.

Bellewstown Fri, 3rd Jul, 2026  Bay Of Dreams She had very bad luck, she nearly got brought down here the first day we ran her. It probably took her a run to get over that. We felt in Leopardstown it was a cracking run (third) and the ground was as quick that day as she wanted it. She came here absolutely bouncing. Ben was very good on her, he had a horse to follow there today and she won nicely. She's a horse we bought in the Horses In Training Sale and she has taken a long time to acclimatise. Now she is just starting to rock and roll. We spotted her at the Horses In Training Sale, I thought she was great value. She was a cheap filly and if she came back to that sort of form (in Britain) over here, she could win. It is hard to win from England to Ireland, but she has ability. I think she will (progress) and I think a bit more juice in the ground won't be any harm to her. She'll be okay to step up to a mile and a quarter at some point as well. I think so (one for Galway), if she could get into the handicap there. Obviously, it is very condensed in Galway. That would be the idea to end up in Galway.

We had this plan for him all year as we were lucky in this race last year (when held at Tipperary), so we said we'd go again. He had a higher Flat rating than my winner (Minella Study) last year and he is a well-bred horse who is by a good sire. Corky (Carroll) had a lot of schooling done with him. Options over hurdles are scarce for him now, so he can go back on the Flat where there is a good pot in him. . He is a nice sharp horse, he doesn't know he is small and in fairness, they say the New Bays want soft ground so we'll see. He is for sale and could be a horse for America.

Gowran Park Fri, 12th Jun, 2026  Rion Rubette She did it lovely. I was a bit worried if she was going to get there, but she ground it out real well and she knew where the line was. . She seems to really be getting a liking for Gowran. It's not that far away from us, so I'd say that's a big help to her. She's tricky enough when travelling and at the races. . Hopefully, if she is all right in the morning, she is entered in the Curragh Derby weekend in the fillies' handicap on the Saturday evening - if she's okay, touch wood she goes there.

Navan Sat, 16th May, 2026  Limestone it was a great ride from Dylan, he is a progressive horse with a good pedigree and is by a good stallion. We are delighted to have him and today was another step forward from his win the last day at Cork. It always looked like he would get that trip and he has got some nice options ahead. We will have to discuss plans with the ownership, but I would say that is likely he could turn up in the Queen's Vase in Royal Ascot.

Gowran Park Wed, 22nd Apr, 2026  Rion Rubette She is very game, had a lovely run at the Curragh the last day and she was meeting some of today's rivals on better terms,. The handicapper has had great faith in this filly all along and was proved right today. It is great to win, we'll see how she is now and aim for a similar type of handicap.
