Jack said it took him a while to get going, he said he was very sticky early until he got down over the double down the bottom,. It's a bit trickier here than it is in Cheltenham. It's hard to place a horse like him now so we said we'd see how he took to this. It's job done. The runner-up is good around here and those horses are real specialists around here. He kind of pulled up from the last home, he pricked his ears and didn't do much. He used to wear cheek-pieces over fences and I wouldn't be surprised if they were back on him again at some stage. We try to do different things with him at home, we take him away to a lot of different places to school him. He's very good around Cheltenham but he still has a bit to learn over the banks here. The Stewards fined C.W.J. Farrell, trainer, €65 for failing to fit the declared tounge tie to Hurricane Darwin, prior to entering the parade ring

The Irish Horseracing Regulatory Board Veterinary Officer reported to the Stewards that Hurricane Darwin trained by C.W.J. Farrell was found to have blood at the nostrils post race

The Stewards interviewed Mr B.T. Stone, rider of Vital Island, concerning his use of the whip in the closing stages of this race. Evidence was heard from the rider concerned, who accepted that he had used his whip excessively and apologised for his actions. Having viewed a recording of the race and considered the evidence, the Stewards were satisfied that Mr. B.T. Stone was in breach of Regulation 10.3(g)(frequency) and having considered his record, they cautioned him on this occasion

The Stewards enquired into an incident on the bend approaching the laurel bank involving Champagne Platinum, ridden by K.M. Donoghue, Midnight Maestro (GB), ridden by M.P. Walsh, Vital Island, ridden by Mr B.T. Stone, Blast Of Koeman, ridden by Mr T. Power Roche, and Freewheelin Dylan, ridden by R.A. Doyle, where it appeared that an incident occurred. Evidence was heard from the riders concerned. M. P. Walsh, stated that he received pressure from his inside and to check back. K.M. Donoghue, stated that he was carried wide. R.A. Doyle, stated that he was carried wide having suffered interference from his inside. Mr. T. Power Roche, stated that he got tight for room on the inside. Mr B. T. Stone, stated that he was aware that a horse was on his outside, but was hanging inwards at the time. Having viewed the recording of the race and considered the evidence, the Stewards were satisfied that Mr B.T Stone, was in breach of Rule 214 in that he had ridden carelessly, and having considered his record, they suspended him for two racedays.

Committee have suspended Rule 78 to enable horses which run in this race (excluding the winner) to retain their Hunters Certificates for the remainder of the 2022/2023 Point To Point Season.
