There have been three Irish-trained winners at Goodwood so far this week and there are five more runners heading over for Day 5.

Aidan O’Brien, Joseph O’Brien, Paddy Twomey and Dermot Weld are all represented and you might want to be on the lookout.

Here we assess the chances of all five horses and it’s Aidan O’Brien’s runner in the maiden who makes the most appeal.

Aeronautic - Goodwood 1.55 @ 6/1

AERONAUTIC represents the Joseph O’Brien yard and he remains lightly raced, especially in handicap company. The son of Gleneagles got off the mark at the second time of asking when narrowly winning a Dundalk maiden, before following up impressively in a rated race.

Fourth in a Listed race over this trip on his final start of last season, he looked badly in need of the on seasonal debut time at the Curragh. It was a much improved display at Royal Ascot and a similar performance would surely give the four-year-old every chance.

Duraji - 1.55

Dermot Weld’s DURAJI is also rather lightly raced and the form of his Leopardstown maiden win has worked out pretty well. Several horses in behind have won since, including the Group 3-placed mare Royal Entry

This season has been a bit of a struggle however and he was well beaten in a Down Royal Listed contest over two miles when last seen. Perhaps handicaps will suit but it’s very hard to know what to make of his mark.

Goodie Two Shoes - 2.30

Joseph O’Brien has been in excellent form recently and already has a winner on the board at Glorious Goodwood this week. GOODIE TWO SHOES has been in the form of her life so far this season and consistency has been her hallmark.

She completed her hat-trick when winning the Group 3 Stanerra Stakes over this trip at Fairyhouse when last seen and a similar performance here will surely put her bang in the mix.

Royal Entry - 2.30

It remains to be seen if ROYAL ENTRY is up to competing at this sort of level, but Paddy Twomey wouldn’t send her over if he wasn’t confident.

The daughter of Fracas won a Cork maiden over 1m4f in good style back in May but has since suffered defeat at the hands of Goodie Two Shoes twice.

Potentially vulnerable from a win perspective, running into a place isn’t out of the question for her but a career best effort will be required.

Isaac Newton - 4.20

Ryan Moore rode a treble at Goodwood on Wednesday and he’s set to ride ISAAC NEWTON in the 7f maiden for two-year-olds. This €380,000 purchase is by Camelot and he ran an absolute cracker to finish second by a nose on debut at the Curragh.

Moore was on board stablemate New Zealand, the eventual winner, and Isaac Newton stuck to his task really well and only just failed to get up. Ballydoyle juveniles tend to step forward significantly from their debuts but he might not need to here.
