FormscanBy Mark Nunan - Class act in the race GENTLEMAN DU MEE is not always the most reliable and has stamina to prove over 2m4f but a sharp, flat track such as this will help in that respect. Second of three finishers in the Champion Chase at Cheltenham, the Saint Des Saints gelding has had his last eight races in Grade One contests and is twice a winner at the highest level. Visionarian was a very capable good-ground performer for Peter Fahey and is interesting after a break on his first start for in-form Gavin Cromwell. Galway Plate winner Ash Tree Meadow and last year’s Ryanair fourth French Dynamite, who is best in at the weights, have claims on their best form.

It was a surprise but you only have to look back to Aintree last year. He settled much better today, so I had a bit of petrol for the finish. He has a serious engine. He sat on Dunvegan's girth early on, didn't tear away as he can often do. On this performance he deserves a crack at the Champion Chase.

It wasn't really the plan to run him but when the race looked like it would cut up we decided we'd declare him and then make our mind up what to do. In fairness to Eamon and Robbie (Waters) they said 'whatever you want to do'. It worked out great. He's a good horse, Sam said he hated that ground and he'll be better on better ground. There is a race in Fairyhouse and a race in Aintree for him. He'll be entered in the Irish National and we'll see what Eamon wants to do, it's just whether he'd get that trip would be my only concern. We had four or five seconds last weekend but no winner. I'd be anxious myself, we haven't much between now and Cheltenham but it's happy days (today).

It was a good performance again even though he was getting a few pounds off two of them. Jack (Kennedy, jockey) said the further he went, the better he got. He probably wasn't in love with the track or maybe the ground. . There is a novice chase for him at Killarney next week and you need three runs to qualify for those good staying handicap chase, so that's why we are keen to run him. He could be a horse for the Kerry National.

She deserved that as she had been unlucky and was going to run well the last day (when exiting at the third-last). It wasn't pretty stuff today, but got the job done. It is very tough going today, but Pa said she was also getting a bit lonely up the home straight. . I'm delighted for the syndicate which are local and I'll leave her alone now until Christmas where she might go to Limerick for the Tim Duggan Memorial Chase. She could also go back over hurdles at some stage.

That's unbelievable, she has the heart of a lion. She's a mare that wants good to firm ground-wise. On the ground I didn't think it would happen today at all, I thought she might even pull up on heavy ground. She gave me my first two winners and that's my 20th today. I thought she was gone turning in but she just doesn't know when to quit. It's crazy. I was very lucky to get her. She just suits the way we train them, I keep her fresh. I actually ride her out every day myself, she's always in great form and is a pleasure to have. She tries her heart out everyday and just loves racing. I think we might go for the Scottish Champion Hurdle now. That's the plan and we'll probably go straight there as it's in a couple of weeks time. That's her 96th run today and her tenth win.
