An enquiry was held to consider interference shortly after the start, involving On The Bubble (GB), placed fourth, ridden by Greg Fairley, the winner, Carlton And Co (GB), ridden by Billy Garritty, One Of Our Own (GB), placed fifth, ridden by Kaiya Fraser and Freak Encounter (IRE), unplaced, ridden by Cam Hardie.
Fairley was suspended for 4 days for careless riding as he shifted right-handed taking Carlton And Co (GB) off its intended line, which caused Fraser to take a check on One Of Our Own (GB), which resulted in Freak Encounter (IRE) becoming unbalanced on the rail.
Following the race, William Pyle reported that Homer Stokes (GB), unplaced, drawn 2, anticipated the start and accelerated the gates at the same moment as the race had been started and was slowly away as a result.
Being satisfied that it was not caused through a faulty action of the starting stalls, no further action was taken.
