Easter Lily going the right way
"She broke smart and travelled easy, and had her race won at the furlong marker and just had a little look then. She's a nice filly," said Donnacha O'Brien after winning the Irish Stallion Farms EBF Fillies Maiden (Plus 10 Race) at Leopardstown on Easter Lily. Thu 13th Jul
She did it well and she's still getting stronger. She's in the sales next week, in Goffs, and she'll probably go there. I'd say there is plenty of racing left in her. She enjoys her racing out in front and loves that surface, skips along. I'd say she's only getting stronger and better. Her attitude is good, she's a very sound filly and genuine. She's easy trained and doesn't take much work. It's seven weeks since she ran and I'd say she's after strengthening in that time and she'll probably strengthen again. She had decent form on the turf as well.

She had five runs and we said that we'd freshen her up a bit. I felt she'd win a fillies race over a mile and we picked out this race a good while ago and trained her for here. She got things her own way out in front and the cheek-pieces just helped her to concentrate. She travelled lovely and sweet but got a bit lonely out in front. It's a long way up the straight but Pat never really had to get serious on her. It's great to get a winning bracket as she's run some good races and she will probably have an entry in the February Sale.
