Dundalk Fri, 5th Dec, 2025  Bucky Larson He (McGettigan) is worth his 7lb and he is local,. He has had a lot of seconds for us, so we have changed tactics and put the noseband on and up he popped today. He was just pipped on the line five weeks ago and then we ran him too soon. We freshened him up. He is (off a competitive mark), but he is a pensioner now! He's a 10-year-old coming 11. If he keeps sound, we'll come back. He loves chasing horses down, he needs a strong pace and everything worked out okay.

Dundalk Fri, 28th Nov, 2025  Arctic Steps Great ride, he just came in time! . I thought she was struggling two furlongs down. He said when he got stuck into her, she stayed on very strongly. . She won in Down Royal at 66/1 one day and lost her form then. We kind of thought she didn't stay seven (furlongs). . We put cheekpieces on her and gave her a gallop here last week and we thought she was a lot better with them. We thought they would help some bit anyway. . She probably will keep coming up for the Winter Series. . Our own lad Rory would have been riding her, only he has gone to Australia. . He has a problem out there, he can't get a licence because an international apprentice has to have 40 winners before he can get a licence out there. . He got off the plane and won a barrier trial the next day! . He likes it and it is a bit of a working holiday for him, and a bit of learning for him. . He's with Robbie Griffiths in Melbourne and he will be back in Johnny's (Murtagh) for the Flat.

Naas Sun, 12th Oct, 2025  Speckled Meadow She stayed the trip well. I also entered her in the apprentice race here and it was deciding then on what the options were for jockeys. We got Wayne for this race off bottom weight, so we said we’d take our chance.

Navan Wed, 8th Oct, 2025  Step Back In Time She really enjoys it here - I don't know what it is, I think maybe going down into the dip she can take a breath. I was hopeful, I wasn't confident to be honest. She was on the go a while and it is getting late in the year for a filly. We had to clip her the other day, her coat was gone. She was flying going to Cork and I think she just came into season going down there. I wasn't too worried about that run, I think there was an excuse. The grey filly (Platino Bianco), it was her last-chance saloon. She has always worked well. She travelled very sweetly, so she will get another chance. There is (another race for her in Navan) - there is a '60' sprint and an '80' sprint, so hopefully we get another day with the two of them. Step Back in Time, we might try her once (in Dundalk). She is actually rated lower on the all-weather.

Leopardstown Sat, 13th Sep, 2025  Alakazi You dream about days like today. I’ve been telling Pat Downes all year how good this horse was. He was a bit of a work in progress. He was a bit aggressive earlier in the year, Ben was saying he’s not on the bridle or off the bridle. His last few bits of work have been great; he’s learning on the job. We were a little bit disappointed he didn’t win the last time, but we knew coming here that he was going to be a different proposition. He’s a beautiful horse and a beautiful horse to train. I think he can go all the way. He’s in at Ascot. He probably doesn’t want the ground too soft, and Ben said he handled that ground really well. I think he deserves a shot at it; he’s after winning a Group 2. I’d love to keep him for next year as well.
