Alsium holds off gambled on Cape
The Paul Deegan trained, Chris Hayes ridden Alsium kept on best to beat the gambled on favourite Cape Of Approval in the Irish Field Maiden over six furlongs. Sun 10th Jun
It's his third win down here though his other two wins were on the round track. Billy (Lee) decided to let Maarek go first and leave his challenge late hoping that he'd stop in front. He's in the Wokingham (at Royal Ascot next week) and if it comes up soft he could go there. He'd need a lot of rain as his front legs are a bit tricky. He needs a good dig. He'd probably be well-in there now judged on this run.

He did it well and he's improving. He got a bit of a culture shock in the first half of the race. He was a long way back and it's different not running against his own age group. We'll leave it at that, he's a big horse and we'll give him time to mature. He's had a busy campaign. When he first started racing he was very, very stupid. He hadn't a clue but when he was beaten in a maiden here over six furlongs the penny started to drop.
T Stack
He did it well. He was only broken around this time last last year so he's more like two-years-old. He'll probably have one more run and it might be in a premier handicap somewhere. He's a big horse. He'll improve away for next year.
T Stack
He did it alright. He's starting to get his act together. He was only broken last September and was very raw in his early days. Hopefully he'll improve away now and he should be better next year. He'll run next in a six furlong three-year-old handicap at Cork after Galway.
