Billy Lee rode the concluding winner at Dundalk on Thursday night, Buccaneer Bob, and after Ballyorban in the first at Cork he made it three in a row when Bold Thady Quill won the Listed Cork Stakes.

Ken Condon trains Ballyorban and Bold Thady Quill and anyone lucky enough to double the pair would be rewarded at odds of 83/1.

Third in the Lincoln at the Curragh last Sunday, Bold Thady Quill undoubtedly benefitted from the fast pace here.

Himself and Cape Of Approval pulled clear from over a furlong out and there was eventually half a length between them at the line. They left Red Dubawi all of nine lengths behind in third.

Condon revealed: "The last thing I said to Billy going out was that in his younger days he won over five and six. The big thing today really was that he handles the ground and that he's a fit horse.

"It's one of those anomalies in that he can't win a handicap off 91 and then he goes and wins a listed race." (AM & EM)
