< Midnight Soprano came out on top in a thrilling finish to the feature Cork Racecourse Mallow Noblesse Stakes at Cork.

Pushed along for a long way by Marc Monaghan in the Group Three contest on her seasonal bow, Paul Deegan's admirable mare (5-1) came to challenge for the lead heading to the final furlong.

British raider Cubanita briefly took over before being swooped on by Magical Dream but Monaghan played Midnight Soprano latest of all and she got there by a head.

Billy Lee landed a treble and Cape Of Approval (11-2) sprung something of a surprise when he comprehensively turned over the odds-on Maarek to take the Midsmummer Sprint Stakes for his third victory at the track.

Tommy Stack's four-year-old raced in rear for much of the Listed contest, but moved smoothly up to join the driven along Maarek at the furlong poll and quickened clear to win by a length and three-quarters.

Lee switched to Remember You (12-1) after David Wachman pulled out stablemate Sudirman from the Irish Stallion Farms EBF Maiden and the juvenile travelled sweetly before finding a nice turn of foot to dismiss the odds-on Dove Mountain by a length.

The jockey completed his treble when Overland Express (8-1), also trained by Tommy Stack, just collared Lake District in the corkracecourse.ie Maiden to win by half a length.

Aidan O'Brien sent out another odds-on favourite, Bye Bye Birdie (4-9), in the Irish Stallion Farms EBF Fillies Maiden and she gave supporters a scare before rallying to beat Abbakova by a neck under a strong Joseph O'Brien drive.

Jim Bolger's Morning With Ivan (15-8 favourite) ran on with great resolution for Kevin Manning to squeeze past tricky ride Brog Deas to take the Follow Us On Twitter Handicap by a head.

Joe Doyle sent the Charlie Swan-trained Bainne into the lead from the start of the Summer BBQ July 12th Handicap and the 4-1 chance was always in control, winning comfortably by a length and three-quarters.
