Ishebayorgrey mows them down
Ishebayorgrey (10/3) swooped down the outside to grab the spoils for Pat Martin and Colin Keane in the six furlong handicap at Dundalk. Fri 17th Apr
He can get free when he's on the outside and tonight we were delighted to be drawn on the inside,. further . If he switches off in the first two or three furlongs he's a different horse. Killian said he settled and halfway through the race he started to get on to it. He did it well tonight. Ray (Moore, owner) is a great supporter and he'll party tonight, he's well able to do that!. He's been a smashing servant this fella. He tries everything and rarely doesn't turn up. He always wants to race hard and if he's drawn wide he uses himself. You can whinge about draws but they can be crucial and we were delighted to see the low draw. He's very consistent and I thought we had a great chance of turning it around with the favourite as he went up a good bit. It's great that it happened.
Patrick Martin
he worked really well last Saturday but my one worry was whether the young lad (Danny Sheehy) would get on with him but he did exactly what I asked him to do. I said there would be a hard pace and let him find his own level and keep him covered for as long as you can - it was a smashing ride and he looks a very promising young fella. this horse has improved all the time and he loves this place and if you can get a hard pace and a bit of cover he puts in an effort now. He wasn’t always as resolute as he is now but he’s getting tough.
Patrick Martin
He ran great the last day in a better contest, and I felt that he'd improved. He's had some physio which also helped. He's a nice horse on this surface, and Wayne gave him a marvellous ride. I thought he was going to have about ten stone two and in that case we would have used a claimer but it was great to have Wayne.
Patrick Martin
He has kept us going and that's his sixth win and his second this year. He has been unlucky on a few occasions but battled really well today. Raymond (owner Raymond Moore) has been lucky for us but couldn't be here today as his wife Maria was coming back from Spain and he was picking her up from the airport.
Patrick Martin
He's ultra gutsy. Colin and him are a great team. I love the way he gave him a chance to get the trip as seven is probably stretching him,. He was happy throughout the race but it got very tight at the end. He's resolute and battles to win. He's a lucky horse and has a lucky own too.
Patrick Martin
Colin always felt that he was getting there, and he's a horse with great resolution. He has an entry at Bellewstown over five furlongs but I'd say we'll give him a break now.
Patrick Martin
I thought we would have plenty of horses for the all-weather this year but it didn't work out like that,. That's my first winner from our new yard. We moved a few weeks ago to Oliver Finnegan's yard in Dean Hill and the horses have done really well since the move. He's the biggest example of how they have thrived. There is a swimming pool there which is a big help. It's lovely set-up and I'm delighted where we are. The owner is a long standing patron of mine. He had a big day at the dentist yesterday so is a bit under the weather. This horse ran well on soft ground last week so I don't think ground is an issue. We'll look for six and seven furlong races. A mile might stretch him.
Patrick Martin
