After race at Galway Tue, 9th Sep, 2025 (1st)
If ever a horse deserved to win a race at Galway, it was him as had finished second in three Ahonoora's (handicaps) and was unlucky in this year's festival, as if he had got the gaps he'd probably have won. Everything went perfectly today, but the only scare we had was his saddle slipped backwards and someone rang to say he had lost his lead-bag, but thankfully it stayed on. Everything was ok, though, and Nicola said he was travelling so well the whole way. That was Nicola's first ride for me and I had met her and her sister about six years ago when her father came to buy a horse for pony racing. They were only kids then and Nicola is well able to ride. The horse had won for me in Down Royal in May and his owners sent him to Ireland this year, as they are based here and like to see him run here. He is in his retirement-era but, when you see him do that, you'd wonder why and he could go to Listowel now. He has won over €200,000 and is a joy to have around the place.

Plenty of ability and he has had a good long career in England. I think he mightn't have won for two seasons but he has picked up nearly £200,000 along the way. I think he was second in three premier handicaps in Galway when they brought him over. He had a bit of an injury there that had him out for a year and he came to me at the start of this year. We have freshened him up and whatever. Turning track and produced late works beautifully. A lot of pace early on and Chris got to drop him in, slipped round the inside and then thankfully he tacked out because my other horse ran into a bit of traffic problems up the inside. He's riding very well and delighted to get a win for that horse. If he could sneak into a premier handicap somewhere and Garry (O'Gorman, handicapper) isn't too hard on him, I imagine that is where we would go. He needs a bit of luck in running as well.

He hadn't run in a year before he ran the last day and was a bit lazy and today Shane was saying he was lazy too. We fancied him coming here as he is after improving a good bit since his run the last day. He is a nice horse and is by Noble Mission and they all stay.
