He loves that soft ground and while chasing is his game, it took us a long time to get him right. He might have another run over hurdles if he's not punished too hard,. The Stewards interviewed J.B. Kane, rider of Raz De Maree (FR), concerning his use of the whip in the closing stages of this race. Evidence was heard from the rider concerned. Having viewed a recording of the race and considered the evidence the Stewards were of the opinion J.B. Kane was in breach of Regulation 10 3 (f) in that he had used his whip with excessive frequency, and having taken his record into account, they suspended him for 5 racedays.

An extended handicap hurdle for five yrs old and upwards (130 = 11st 10lb)
Weights - Top weight in the original handicap; shall not be less than 11st 10lb
Penalties - Winner of a hurdle race after calculation of the handicap to carry 4lb extra for each hurdle race won. Any horse rated above 130 shall initially be treated as having that rating and the highest weight allotted shall be 11st 10lb. Subsequently, the excess over 130 in any rating shall be added to the weight allotted to that horse. (For the purpose of this note, any four or five year old rated above 130 shall have the applicable weight for age allowance then prevailing deducted from the horse's rating prior to the original calculation of the handicap)
