THE MIDNITE A NEXT GENERATION BETTING APP HANDICAP STAKES (CLASS 4) (Rider Restricted Race) An enquiry was held to consider interference at the end of the back straight involving Alondra (GB), placed second, ridden by Mikkel Mortensen, El Bufalo (GB), placed fifth, ridden by Zoe Lewis and the winner Cressida Wildes (GB), ridden by Connor Planas.
Being a 7lb claimer, Lewis was offered accompaniment but declined.
Mortensen was suspended for 4 days for careless riding as he allowed his mount to shift left-handed when insufficiently clear, causing El Bufalo (GB) to be tightened for room over a number of strides and bump with Cressida Wildes (GB) on two occasions, before Lewis was ultimately forced to take a significant check on El Bufalo (GB) when running out of racing room.
The Stewards noted that approximately half a furlong out El Bufalo (GB), placed fifth, had to be checked by its rider having been denied a clear passage when running onto the heels of Gogo Yubari (GB), placed fourth.
Following the race, Harry Vigors reported that his saddle slipped on the bend leaving the back straight on Gogo Yubari (GB), placed fourth.
