Permission was given for Jax Edge (GB) to go early to post wearing a red hood, for both Asinara (GB) and Over Spiced (GB) to wear a red hood to the start, and for Lahina Bay (IRE) to be mounted in the chute.
The Starter reported that Loco Lobo (GB) had refused to enter the stalls and was withdrawn at 3:56pm.
Lisa Williamson was informed that the mare could not run until the day after passing a stalls test.
Joe Leavy, the rider of Call Time (IRE), drawn 9, was slow to remove the blindfold resulting in his horse being slow to start.
Leavy was interviewed and shown recordings of the incident.
He explained that after being fractious in the stalls prior to the start being effected, the gelding had its head down low which Leavy was attempting to correct resulting in him being caught unaware by the start being effected.
As a result, he was unable to remove the hood immediately but did so at the first opportunity.
His explanation was noted.
Following the race, Jack Callan reported that Money Pockets (GB), unplaced, jumped awkwardly from the stalls and Rob Hornby reported that Asinara (GB), which started favourite and finished second, was denied a clear run approximately 1½ furlongs out.
