Inside the final furlong, Edvard Grieg (IRE), placed third, hung left-handed despite the riders best efforts, taking Irezumi (GB), placed second, off its intended line, but after viewing a recording of the incident, it was found that no riding offence was involved.
The winner, Skimming Along (IRE), appeared to show improved form compared with its previous run at Kempton Park on 7 April 2025 where the gelding finished thirteenth of fourteen runners, beaten 35¼ lengths.
Daniel Steele’s explanation that the gelding had benefited from the change to turf on handicap debut was noted.
Skimming Along (IRE) was routine tested.
Following the race, Harry Kimber reported that Good Eye (IRE), unplaced, was slowly away.
Stevie Donohoe reported that Mond (GER), unplaced, ran too free.
The Veterinary Officer reported that the winner, Skimming Along (IRE), had lost its left-fore shoe.
