Navan Sat, 7th Sep, 2024  Grande Marques She ran well the first day in the Curragh and met a bit of interference. Then she was free in that Group 2 (at the Curragh) and she was free a bit in the Ballyhane race in Naas and kind of got caught in no man's land. She came up the middle of the track on her own. She's had excuses, but it is very well saying they have excuses - they have to go out and show otherwise at times. We stopped making excuses today and she won well today. We'll step her back up in grade. There is a Group 3 in Ayr in a fortnight's time and there is a race at Newmarket quite late as well, at the end of October. It is a fillies' race over six. Quick ground doesn't seen to bother her anyhow. It was a grand little pot for four runners.

Naas Sun, 25th Aug, 2024  Shandy She ran well in the Listed race here the last day (in sixth) and won the race on her side. We were drawn 11 and 12 and the middle is the worse place to be, so we took a chance and it worked out. The ease in the ground helped as she needs an ease in the ground. We tried different things with hoods as she over-raced once or twice and it all came together today.

Dundalk Fri, 12th Jul, 2024  Rough Diamond He was a horse that was rated in the 90s and I couldn't believe this morning he was 10 or 12/1. He has never run against horses like that before. If they (bookmakers) are going to be silly, you have to put manners on them!. He will probably be claimed now and he will be a fun horse for somebody. Trevor (Dalzell, owner) is a great supporter and nice to get him another winner. He's having a nice drink on holidays now and is a few quid better off!

Killarney Tue, 14th May, 2024  See Me Through We were disappointed the last day when we thought he'd nearly win in Leopardstown, but maybe his first run back maybe took a little out of him. He had a nice little space between runs today. Dusty (Foley) said he had plenty left, felt he loved the ground and has big feet on him. He probably wants a ease in the ground and did everything nicely. He is an improver and it is grand to have him. We'll look for a similar handicap.

Navan Tue, 7th May, 2024  Air Force One he joined us last year and he's gotten stronger since he came. He's been showing a bit of pace and it looked like a nice place to start. We had planned on starting him in this race when it was originally due to be run in Tipperary but weather dictated that we came here. We were waiting for this to be changed to somewhere else. I think he's a five-furlong sprinter. He was tough there and we'll see what the handicapper does. Hopefully we'll have a bit of fun with him for the summer.

Navan Tue, 7th May, 2024  Unexpected Issues she's going to be an early two-year-old so I suppose we'll run maybe once more and think about something in Ascot for her. Her brother (Castle Star, currently standing at Kilkenny's Capital Stud) was a very good horse but got beaten first time out, so she's done better than him!. she was a little bit green, a little bit slow away and then ran around a bit. She should come forward for that as she's only worked once on grass so should improve. I was in the car with Seamie (Heffernan) coming up so I'll talk more in depth with him going home but if you get five (furlongs) here, you'll get six most places. We might look for a winners' race, we'll see what's there and how she comes out of it.

Naas Mon, 29th Apr, 2024  Namjong Kingdom I was hoping that he was better than his mark and it worked out that way. He probably ran into one the last day at the Curragh. He’s improved a lot physically from two to three and hopefully he’ll get a bit further. He should get a mile and a quarter and he’s in the new (Irish Stallion Farms EBF Gowran Classic) race in Gowran, the 200 grand race, he qualifies for that.
