An enquiry was held to consider interference approximately 1 ½ furlongs out involving Calcutta Dream (IRE), placed fifth, ridden by Joanna Mason; Annalee Lass (IRE), placed fourth, ridden by Mark Winn and Wheres The Crumpet (GB), unplaced, ridden by Andrew Mullen.
The Stewards considered the interference to be accidental as Calcutta Dream (IRE) lugged marginally right-handed at the same time as Annalee Lass (IRE) had hung left-handed, a fact that Winn reported at Scales, resulting in the weakening Wheres The Crumpet (GB) to be crowded for room causing Mullen to have to take a check.
Approaching 4 furlongs out, the rider of the free-running Jems Bond (GB), unplaced, steadied the gelding off the heels of Wheres The Crumpet (GB), unplaced, resulting in Top Gun Tina (GB), placed third, running onto the quarters of Jems Bond (GB) and resulting in it stumbling.
After viewing a recording of the incident, it was found that no riding offence was involved.
Following the race, Mark Winn reported that Annalee Lass (IRE), placed fourth, hung left-handed throughout and Andrew Mullen reported that Wheres The Crumpet (GB), unplaced, suffered interference approximately 1 ½ furlongs out.
David Nolan reported that Jems Bond (GB), unplaced, lost its action approximately 2 furlongs out, therefore felt it prudent to ease the gelding; the Veterinary Officer examined the gelding post-race and found Jems Bond (GB) to be lame on its right-hind.
